Our Company

At TinnitusCare.ie Clinics, we provide effective tinnitus services, supported by proven research and technology, all delivered with a focus on care and affordability. Whether normal hearing or profound hearing loss, our QNAS process tailored solutions to meet your needs.

Partnering with industry leaders such as Widex, Unitron, Starkey, and GN Resound, we ensure access to the latest advancements in audio and hearing aid technology. Our commitment to patient care and the structure of QNAS is such that time is invested to clearly explain and demonstrate the models and methods of tinnitus and tinnitus amelioration benefits of each solution. This empowers individuals to make informed choices about their tinnitus and hearing health for now and into the future.

Our expertise extends beyond tinnitus and, as well as standard hearing aid fittings, we specialise in addressing complex audiological issues, including unilateral hearing loss, conductive hearing loss and profound hearing loss. We also process Department of Social Protection PRSI Hearing Aid Scheme grants.

Frank McGrath FISHAA

Founded by Frank McGrath the original audiology business launched as a part of the Apex Hearing franchise in 2019. EarCareClinics.ie evolved from there in post-Covid 2022 to provide more personalised support for every individual with ear and hearing issues.

The founder, Frank McGrath is a Hearing Aid Audiologist with 20 years of experience in private ear care.

Quietness via Neuro-Auditory Stimulation

QNAS is a groundbreaking tinnitus care designed to assess, alleviate, and manage tinnitus effectively. At Tinnitus Care Clinics, 90% of patients experience a reduction in tinnitus sounds during their first consultation. While symptoms may return, this demonstrates that effective tinnitus management is possible.
Our approach includes personalised daily exercises, empowering patients to independently reduce tinnitus noise. QNAS is highly effective for individuals with severe tinnitus, unilateral hearing loss, and cochlear implant users, as well as those with normal hearing or hearing loss.
Experience the future of tinnitus relief with QNAS—helping you regain control and restore quietness in your life.

The Science Behind QNAS

QNAS integrates clinically proven tinnitus therapies—including Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) and Widex Zen Tinnitus Therapy (WZT)—with proprietary research and advanced audiological techniques. Developed over five years and underpinned by 15+ years of clinical experience, QNAS delivers personalised, research-based care that is transforming tinnitus management.

The QNAS Process: Three Essential Steps

QNAS follows a structured, three-step approach to tinnitus relief:

  • Assessment: A comprehensive review of tinnitus symptoms, medical history, and auditory health to identify root causes and any associated hearing loss patterns.
  • Education: Clear, plain-English explanations of tinnitus mechanisms, plus hands-on techniques so patients can experience symptom reduction and build self-management skills.
  • Amelioration: A personalised plan using sound-stimulation devices, calibrated sound generators, and advanced hearing aids to minimise—or in some cases eliminate—symptoms.
Immediate Tinnitus Relief with QNAS

While complete elimination is uncommon, most patients report meaningful relief after their first session, making tinnitus markedly more manageable.

What’s included in the 90-minute initial consultation
  • Full tinnitus and medical history assessment
  • Pure-tone audiometry to map hearing-loss patterns linked to tinnitus
  • A tailored therapy plan using sound stimulation and/or hearing aids

Many patients notice an immediate drop in perceived tinnitus volume; some experience short periods of complete quiet shortly after treatment begins.

A key component is the Widex Zen Tinnitus Program (WZT), introduced in 2009 and paired with Widex GPS Compass software for precision sound therapy. In practice, this combination has delivered excellent outcomes compared with other common approaches.

Long-Term Management

Following initial relief, we develop a customised, long-term plan for sustained control.

  • Daily relief exercises for confident self-management
  • Specialised hearing aids and advanced sound-therapy devices
  • Ongoing monitoring and fine-tuning for optimised outcomes

QNAS empowers patients to regain control of daily life without constant tinnitus disruption.

QNAS & the Irish Language Connection

The meaning behind QNAS. The acronym stands for Quietness via Neuro Auditory Stimulation and also reflects Quietness through Narrative, Analogy, and Stories—highlighting how education translates complex neurology and audiology into clear, actionable understanding.

QNAS resonates with the Irish word “ciúnas”—calmness, stillness, quiet. The phrase Tá an saol mór faoi chiúnas” (“all the world is hushed”) captures our aim: restoring peace and quiet in everyday life.
